Video and audio compatibility

Lunyce’s video and audio tools use your browser’s codecs (WebCodecs): the video is decoded and encoded by your device and is never uploaded. What you can process therefore depends a little on the browser. If a format cannot be read, the tool tells you clearly and produces nothing fake.

Supported formats

  • Video: MP4, MOV (iPhone), M4V, WEBM, MKV.
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A (AAC, voice memos), OGG (Opus). The sound of a video can be used too.
  • Not yet: AVI, WMV, FLV, FLAC.

How this information is established

The “Verified by our tests” column comes from our automated test bench, which processes real files in Chromium 141 (open-source build) and checks every result with ffprobe: 39 conversion, trimming, merging, GIF, volume and damaged-file runs. This open-source Chromium has no H.264 or AAC decoder: those cases are verified as copies without re-encoding (MOV → MP4 conversion, fast trim, audio removal), and decoding is handled by Chrome, Edge and Safari for real users. The other columns are based on the browsers’ public documentation and will be confirmed by tests on real devices. Last updated: 8 November 2026.
