Why are my photos in HEIC?
iPhones have saved photos as HEIC since iOS 11, and some Android phones (Samsung in particular, "High efficiency pictures" option) as HEIF. This format is lighter than JPG but refused by many sites. To save directly as JPG on iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → "Most Compatible".
