How do I extract all the text from a PDF so I can copy it?
Drop the PDF into Lunyce's PDF to text tool, start the extraction and download a plain text file. It works on digital PDFs; a scanned document is only an image and contains no text to extract. Your file is processed on your own device, never uploaded, free of charge, with no account and no size limit.
How to
- Add your PDF.
- Start the extraction.
- Download the text file.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my PDF have no text?
A scanned document is an image: it has no text to extract. Use the "OCR PDF" tool, which recognises the text on your device.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Processing happens entirely in your browser, on your device. No file is uploaded or stored. You can check: once the page has loaded, disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
Is there a file size or number limit?
No. Since nothing goes through our servers, there is no quota. The only limit is your device's memory: a computer handles very large files more easily than a phone.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark added to your documents and no usage limit.
